John is reserve Team Pilot for F3K Team NZ

Johns involvement with model aircraft started as a school boy building static models. Flying has been a key feature of his life since his late 20s and while he has... pretty much tried all forms of the sport, radio control gliders are his passion. 

John regularly participates in competitions throughout New Zealand and over the years has had many podium placings and also had a number of radio controlled soaring records. 

He has also competed in events in Australia and in the Torrey Pines Gulls International HLG Festival, winning first place Eagle in both 2007 and 2009.

John has served a number of terms on the South Island Model Aircraft Association committee and the N Z Soaring Technical Committee.
